Morell CPA provides tax return preparation and tax consulting for missionaries, non-profit organizations, trusts and estates.
Our Team
Emily Morell, CPA
I had the privilege of growing up in Spain, as the child of missionaries. This gave me fluency in both English and Spanish. It also let me see God work in and through people's lives including parents.
In 2011 I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Master of Accounting and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an area of emphasis in International Business. Shortly afterward I passed the Certified Public Accounting (CPA) exam.
I worked for KPMG as an Audit Associate for almost two years. Afterword, I served first as the Comptroller then Treasurer of Believers Stewardship Services for seven years. Over the last 10 years I have gained a wide range of experience in accounting and tax preparation for non-profits, estate planning, planned giving, missionaries and commended Christian ministers.
In 2021 I decided to focus solely on tax preparation and consulting, founding Morell CPA LLC.

Tax Return Preparation
We work with clients remotely to obtain proper documentation to prepare and file accurate tax returns for federal and state authorities. We have expertise in tax return preparation for individuals (Form 1040, Form 2555, Schedule C) and estates/trusts (Form 1041, Form 1041-A, and other related forms).
Tax Consulting
We help navigate or answer some of the difficult questions faced by trustees and executors, missionaries and commended workers, and non-profit organizations and churches. We are happy to provide you with the information and resources to tackle your own tax return preparation needs.
Areas of Practice
Estate and Trust
We have years of experience with the preparation and filing of income tax returns and corresponding fiduciary informational forms for Estates and Revocable Living Trusts, benefitting both individuals and charities, and Charitable Remainder Trusts.
Missionary and Commended Worker
We specialize in the preparation and filing income tax returns for ministers of the gospel that file as independent contractors (1099) on Schedule C. We have expertise in the intricacies of the foreign earned income exclusion.
Non-Profit Organization
We have extensive experience in non-profit accounting and tax preparation. We can also provide assistance with complex planned giving situations and non-cash donations to non-profits and churches.
